The Foundation conducted a rigorous, three-days assessment exercise under its Adolescent and Adult Learning and Training Program (AALTP) of approximately 4,000 adolescent learners enrolled in Package C. The exercise is aimed at certifying the learners who will pass with primary equivalency certification by the Government of Sindh. It was conducted in 18 districts of the province.
The Directorate of Literacy and Non-Formal Education, SE&LD, Govt. of Sindh supervised the assessment exercise and notified District Examination Committees (DECs) comprised of District Education Officers and Taluka Education Officers visited the centers regularly to monitor the activity.
The Non-Formal Education programme is an important initiative to address the post primary education gap and the Out Of School Children crisis. By providing primary equivalency certification, the trust of learners who had never went to school or either dropped out will be restored in the system so they serve as productive citizens of the society.
