Subsequent upon Training of trainers by Sindh Reading Program the qualified trainers are geared up to train ECE and Grade 1 to teachers across 9 districts. Hereby, capacity building of SEF teachers for Urdu and Sindhi language with the programmatic objectives of Sindh Reading Program is under way. Throughout this initiative Training Unit of SEF will be training 4,697 Teachers of 915 Schools of PPRS & SAS programs in following districts: Khairpur, Sukkur, Ghotki, Kashmor , Kandhkot, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Larkana, Kambar ,Shahdadkot and Dadu.
The broader objectives of this READING BASED SKIILS TRAINING are mainly focusing on principle; To Develop the reading culture in schools, To Improve reading skills among students in early grades, To Establish classroom learning environment for reading, To Nurture children’s holistic abilities to “acquire language” through reading in early grades, To Learn and utilize the “good practices” in ‘reading comprehension” with relevant pedagogical skills, to build the “fluency for reading” The training has been organized in several cycles to facilitate the larger magnitude of training. Now Cycle 01 of this training is underway and will continue up to 02 March, the beneficiaries in Cycle 01 are as Programs (SAS and SSS -PPRS), cycle 01, from 22nd Feb to 03rd Mar 2018, Number of participants Trained from Grade 1 and 2 are 525 and 401from ECE.
In tandem to the aforementioned principle set of reading components will be covered in the training sessions as Phonemic awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency, Reading comprehension.
Besides that, Sindh Education Foundation is providing the separate Reading Material in all schools, which was designed by Sindh Reading Program.
