Karachi, Sindh, May 3, 2019 – A delegate from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,Department of Education visited the Head Office of the Sindh Education Foundation, Govt. of Sindh. The meeting was chaired by the worthy Managing Director Mr. Abdul Kabir Kazi.Other officials from the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) included Director Human Resources and General Administration and Coordination Mr. Nasimuddin Mirani,Acting Director Training and Assessment Ms. Shahpara Rizvi while other members included Deputy Directors,Assistant Directors and Officers from various departments and programs of the organization.
The delegate from the Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was headed by Mr. Arshad Khan Secretary, Elementary & Secondary School Education Department, Mr. Hafiz Muhammad Ibrahim Director, E&SE Department, Mr. Ghulam Saeed Director, Education Sector Reforms Unit, Mr. Imran Kazim Senior Section Officer, Planning Wing, Dr. Rukhsana Aziz Monitoring Officer ESRU & Focal Person for ALPs in KP, Ms. Mussarrat Khattak Consultant – ECE Policy Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Ms. Gulnaz Jabeen Education Officer, UNICEF Peshawar.
The purpose of the visit was to meet the senior management of SEF and to learn about the practices adopted by SEF in propagation of education in Sindh and particularly to study the working of Adolescent And Adult Learning And Training Program (AALTP) which provides informal education to adolescents and adults who have missed out on formal education so as to be able to implement it in KPK.
The Managing Director briefed the delegate about SEF while the Acting Director Training and Assessment shared a presentation of SEF. This was followed by a discussion and some of the topics of discussion included teacher retention, assessment and quality of education.
A brief documentary on AALTP was also shown to the delegate. The delegate also showed special interest in the INSTAL scheme. At the end of the meeting the worthy Managing Director presented the members of the delegation with ajraks and souvenirs. The meeting was followed by a visit to the one of the centers of AALTP namely the Sindh Madressatul Islam AALTP Centre.
